Hello, we are people from the developer team behind openage.

About openage

a reimplementation of the Genie engine that started in 2013. openage has a lot of improvements over the original components. It adds completely new features and provides better performance due to different design decisions being made from the beginning on, e.g. being multithreaded and using modern technologies like Vulkan rendering or our self-designed entity-component-system nyan.

Is C++ side of things going to be re-written completely instead of what we have currently?

Starting from 0 is nearly always more effort than reusing useful parts. Our C++ library consists of many modules that will be very useful in the future. What exactly will change can’t be forseen now as the codebase will just be adapted to our new needs and ideas.
